I managed to make it out today to see the *Varied Thrush* at Stuyvesant Town and I was not disappointed. It is one fine looking bird! Some photos from today can be viewed here http://birdingdude.blogspot.com/2013/12/stuyvesant-varied-thrush-nyc.html
I also want to remind and encourage posters to please keep posting updates to the LIST SERVES. While I and some of you, use other social media tools, many of our fellow birders do not. We should ensure that if we are texting, tweeting, facebooking updates or making initial reports of rarities like this, that we include the list serves as well to reach a wider audience. Many folks would be grateful for that. Thanks again to Louise Fraza & Pearl Broder for the find and to Anne Lazarus, Anders Peltomaa and others for all the updates. Keep those updates coming for those who may be planning on going to see this bird. On another note, the *Tundra Swans* I reported this afternoon for Ed Becher, were not in any of the Captree count circles so it cannot be counted - thank you John Gluth for catching that. Cheers!
