Dave Lamagna and I both had separate quick glimpses at a larger, long necked, dark backed grebe on the north side of Orient Point County Park. Unfortunately we did not get a good enough look at the birds bill but we corroborated that the bird was likely a Western Grebe. We could not relocate the bird and unfortunately the fog just rolled in, further complicating our search efforts. I wanted to get the word out just in case folks may be traveling to the area.
