Thanks to Steve Schellenger for pointing out to me that Black Guillemot is not on the NYSARC “reportables” list for Downstate. I was thrown off by the 2009 Suffolk County report that is in the data base. Now I see that that particular bird was of the High Arctic madtii subspecies. So other downstate Black Guillemots are not reportable to NYSARC……..but the Nassau bird is a nice addition for anyone’s Nassau County list! Carena
