Sorry for the late post. One Lapland Longspur was seen briefly along with some 
Horned Larks on Hulse Landing Rd just north of rte 25a in Calverton on 2/7. The 
flock was in the middle of the road and thus was constantly being flushed by 
passing cars. After only about a minute the flock moved out into the field to 
the east where they joined many more distant birds. Plowing doesn't seem to 
have exposed any roadside vegetation or dirt so I felt very lucky to have 
encountered this bird.
