A memorial service will be held on Sunday 30 March at Gutterman's funeral home
in Rockville Center. People will be gathering between 2:00 and 3:00, followed
by a non-denominational remembrance of Manny.

Manny's commitment to the New York State Ornithological Association (formerly
Federation of New York State Bird Clubs) and the Linnaean Society of New York
was evident in his many years of service. Contributions to either of these, or
to a conservation organization of your choice, would be a fitting honor to
Manny's legacy.

Gutterman's (516-764-9400) is located at 175 North Long Beach Rd in Rockville
Center, Nassau County, Long Island. The precise location is on the east side of
North Long Beach Rd., just north of where Oceanside Rd splits off to the south.

Subject: Emanuel Levine

With a heavy heart I relate the passing of Emanuel Levine this morning. A
stalwart of Long Island birding for more than seven decades, Manny bridged
generations of birders and connected us 21st Century birders to the famous
names of the pre-War era. His impacts as mentor, editor, compiler, pioneer of
world birding, and unforgettable personality will come easily to mind to all
who knew him.

Pat tells me that Mickey sounds strong, but then again, she always does.

I believe that a service will be held next Sunday, 30 March, and will post more
information tomorrow.
