I birded the North End today: covering The Loch/Ravine, Great Hill, and a quick look for the Meer Pine warbler.
The Louisiana Waterthrush was present in the Ravine accompanied by a Swamp Sparrow. Also, up by the first rustic bridge there was one Eastern Phoebe foraging along the side of the creek. A single Hermit Thrush was the only bird of note on the North End of the Great Hill. Afterwards I headed over the Harlem Meer and struck out on the bright Pine Warbler there, but while walking down to the Ramble I did happen upon a fairly bright Pine Warbler just south of the Conservatory Garden near a compost area. The warbler was foraging on the edge of a large wet area of the lawn with a large flock of Dark-eyed Juncos.
