I hate to burst your bubble, but 99 percent of the park resides on the West side of Gerritsen Creek and is overrun with invasive plants, illegal paintball, ATVs, dirt bikes and burned out stolen cars. The parks department and Army Corp of Engineers spent millions of dollars over many years restoring the small patch of wetlands you described on the East side, but do nothing to prevent the erosion caused by water-skiers and jet skis during the summer months. It is, however, nice in that spot for now.
