A definite uptick of shorebirds were observed in about 5 hours of birding the East Pond at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge today. A total of 10 species of shorebirds with new arrivals (my field notes), being Semipalmated Sandpiper, Semipalmated Plover and Stilt Sandpiper.
Other notables, include several Little Blue Herons, Greater Scaup and 1 Bonaparte's Gull.
