Central Park NYC Bird Walk on Sunday July 27, 2014 (Highlights)
Yellow Warbler - at least 5 (Shakespeare Garden, Mugger's Woods & Maintenance Field)
Black-and-white Warbler - at least 3 (Mugger's Woods & Humming Tombstone)
Northern Waterthrush - 2 (Upper Lobe & Azalea Pond)
American Redstart - 2 (Mugger's Woods & Humming Tombstone)
We also saw a flyover Osprey and 4 Peregrine Falcons circling around over buildings on Central Park West (a pair of peregrines nested on 25 CPW this year and fledged 2 young).
We also found two Tufted Titmice at the Tupelo Field, at least one of them a hatch-year bird. For the Central Park birders who remember the lack of titmice this past winter, it was a real delight to see and hear these birds.
