Well the Blue Jays were at it again this morning. I was putting the garbage out just after the sun rose this morning and I noticed that there was another significant movement of Blue Jays overhead. Just like the other day, there were Blue Jays at all levels in the sky, but unlike the other day, this was more like a constant stream of birds. On Sunday, I would wait for minutes between groups of Jays as they flew from east to west, but today the wait was never more than a few seconds, and the birds covered a greater area of the sky. I watched for 30 minutes, between 7:15 and 7:45 and counted 1,823 Blue Jays. Several times, there were so many birds in the sky that I know that I missed quite a few – it was just impossible to see and count them all. I wish I could have stayed outside longer, but I had to get to sleep.
