My apologies for the late posting, but three attempts have failed to go through in the last day and a half. This is my last attempt. On the 11:00 am ferry leaving Orient I observed a flock of six Eider on the northwest side of Plum Island. These included five Common and one Drake King. Also observed on the trip were four Dolphin ( I presume Common?) heading into Long Island Sound and many large rafts of Scoter almost entirely White-winged.
Virtually no birds were encountered on the return trip on Sunday at 1:00 pm. Amazing what a difference a day makes.
