In Hudson River off Mariandale Conf. Center and Retreat in Ossining this
morning Charlie Roberto had a raft of 104 Canvasback, which seem increasingly
rare on the river in recent years. Also seen of note were 2 American Widgeon,
and elsewhere on the property 3 pine siskin, 1 purple finch, and two wild
turkey.

As an aside, I saw a first of season common loon from train right on shore
between Scarborough (Briarcliff Manor) and Phillips Manor (North Tarrytown)
yesterday.
