Highlights from Saturday's 12/20/2014 Peekskill CBC included:

High counts of bald eagle (34) pileated WP (19), American pipit (41 all at
croton point), and both eastern bluebird and common raven (can't recall the
#s); also of note were singles of eastern phoebe (very unusual for this count),
brown thrasher, Virginia rail, marsh wren, red breasted nuthatch, white crowned
sparrow, purple finch, American kestrel, peregrine falcon, snow goose, wood
duck, also seen: 4 redhead, 210 canvasback, 9 rusty blackbird, 2 yellow rumped
warbler (no other warblers), catbird, 12 savannah sparrow, 27 wild turkey, and
several owl species including 2 N. Saw whet and many E. Screech (95 species in
all, somewhat above average). There was also a count-week long tailed duck and
black scoter, the latter reported just this am.

Unexpected misses: common grackle, cowbird, E. Towhee, GW teal.

Compiler Mike Newhouse has assembled a great compendium w the 50 year high
count of all species seen, as well as the average and percentage trend (up or
down) over the last decade.
