Since I don't have to be the first one bringing up House Sparrows, I've posted this interesting one (http://www.stevewalternature.com/ ), seen recently at the Alley Pond Environmental Center feeder in Queens. Basically, it looks like the gray areas (of a male) are replaced with brown, although the chestnut area of the head appears a bit wider than normal. Other than the odd plumage, it also caught my attention that no other house sparrows were with it.

More likely a House Sparrow with aberrant tail feathers.
