There certainly has been an incursion of Rough-legs on Long Island of late. On Saturday (2/7) Tim Dunn and I saw 3 different Roughies: along the Wantagh Parkway near the toll booths; over the JFK bird sanctuary (Tobay); and over the marshes north of Ocean Parkway opposite Overlook Beach. All 3 were dark morphs, but the timeline and distance between encounters ruled out any chance of the same bird being seen. What are the odds of that?
