re: recently [re]sighted Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Bronx Co. (N.Y. City)

Gabriel, Sharron, & all,

A Rose-breasted Grosbeak at the N.Y. Botanical Garden is also - rather likely to be - the one that was on the Bronx-Westchester CBC (Dec. 28, 2014) when this bird was found in the Bronx Zoo. (for those not familiar with the 'geography' here, the Bronx zoo is immediately adjacent to the N.Y. Botanical Garden, with the Bronx river as a corridor, and only Fordham Rd. bisecting the near-contiguous wooded & river-side areas within each.

The preliminary results & highlights, including the above-mentioned grosbeak, were sent out on this list by the count compiler Michael Bochnik on the night of the count, with full results made available at a later date.

A survivor, that one (so it seems)!

good birding,
