Spent some time on a beautiful but chilly afternoon at the Bayard Cutting Arboretum where we had wood ducks fly by, a Cooper's hawk circling above as well as several osprey (including one eating a flounder on a tree at the parking lot entrance - much to the enjoyment of everyone leaving the concert).
Yesterday at EPCAL I had several N. Harriers and a (presumably) mated pair of Red-tailed hawks cooperatively hunting and successfully catching a vole. Also many blue birds. - Luke Ormand -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/NYSBirds-L 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/NYSB.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
