Saw increased concentration/movement of Baltimore Orioles (26) and Eastern Kingbirds (18) at Croton Point Park this morning. Almost all of these orioles (23) in one small area around the nature center just after 8am, mixed ages/sexes, moving about as a loose group. The kingbirds were closely grouped on the campground side of the landfill mid-morning hawking insects.
Midday in the mudflats viewed from the Croton River boat ramp were 22 Semipalmated Sandpipers and 9 Least Sandpipers (as well as 9 Killdeer and 6 Great Blue Herons.) Two different subadult Bald Eagles and, at least, three Ospreys also roaming about along Croton Point Park shoreline and around the Croton boat ramp.
