I found the Marbled Godwit at the previously reported location in Cold Spring Harbor, feeding at the mouth of the creek flowing into harbor. It stayed there for most of the 40 minutes I was on site, but thanks to a low flying Osprey, the godwit flew over to the Suffolk side of the county line (east side of the creek) and stayed there briefly before returning to the Nassau side.
After a short visit to nearby Uplands Farm Sanctuary I went to Sunken Meadow State Park where I found another Marbled Godwit, feeding in the tide-lowered creek west of the entrance road bridge. There were a sizeable number of other shorebirds on the flats (300+), mostly Semipalmated Sandpipers (~220), Semi Plovers (~40), and Least Sandpipers (~25), plus a few Greater Yellowlegs, Killdeer and Spotted Sandpipers mixed in. The tide was rising when I left at 4:00 and the godwit had slipped away unseen, but might still be around.
