Tomorrow evening (Tuesday 8 Dec 2015) the Linnaean Society of New York 2015-16 Speaker Program will feature two exciting, and no doubt colorful presentations.
At 6:00 PM filmmaker Michael Male, creator of ‘Watching Warblers’ and other DVDs will show and discuss some of the bird behavior he has filmed in the last few years together with Judy Fieth for Birdfilms. Following the brief business meeting at 7:30 PM, Arturo Kirkconnell, bird curator at the National Museum of Natural History in Havana and co-author of the Field Guide to the Birds of Cuba, will give an overview of Cuban birds. In addition to the resident avifauna (including 28 endemics), Cuba is an important wintering ground for many migrants from North America. Both presentations are free and will be held in the Linder Theater on the first floor of the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. Enter at West 77th Street between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue. All welcome!
