Three hours plus of birding this afternoon at Bayard Cutting Arboretum was 
enjoyable if generally uneventful. The major exception was an AUDUBON’S 
YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER found in this area - 40.741096, -73.157375. It was 
initially found in the densest of three standalone thickets near a tilled 
field, but was very active and moved around the area, feeding in nearby cedars 
and hardwood trees (swarms of small insects were airborne). It was associating 
with 4 “Myrtle” Yellow-rumps. Unfortunately I only found the latter when I 
returned to the spot later after birding other areas of the park. Additional 
birds of note included a Ruby-crowned Kinglet that was in the same dense 
thicket in which the Audubons’ was found, and my FOY Eastern Phoebe was found 
working the treeline between the manor house and the Connetquot River.
