Three hours plus of birding this afternoon at Bayard Cutting Arboretum was enjoyable if generally uneventful. The major exception was an AUDUBON’S YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER found in this area - 40.741096, -73.157375. It was initially found in the densest of three standalone thickets near a tilled field, but was very active and moved around the area, feeding in nearby cedars and hardwood trees (swarms of small insects were airborne). It was associating with 4 “Myrtle” Yellow-rumps. Unfortunately I only found the latter when I returned to the spot later after birding other areas of the park. Additional birds of note included a Ruby-crowned Kinglet that was in the same dense thicket in which the Audubons’ was found, and my FOY Eastern Phoebe was found working the treeline between the manor house and the Connetquot River.
