Although the total number of nocturnal migrant landbirds was low, the variety
was interesting at Robert Moses SP, Suffolk, LI this morning from 7:30-9:30.

Highlights included a Red-breasted Nuthatch, three Purple Finches (apparently
still in juvenile plumage), and a Lark Sparrow that flew the "wrong way" (west
to east) past the Fire Island Hawkwatch platform. The last paused briefly in a
dead tree, then continued to the east.

There were also a few warblers, a Baltimore Oriole, and what looked like the
start of a strong swallow and raptor flight.
