In addition to the continuing American Golden-Plover reported this morning in Eastport, I just found a lone Buff-breasted Sandpiper at the sod fields east of Doctor’s Path in Riverhead. The bird is among several Killdeer in the northern portion of the field, currently being seen from the intersection with Reeves Avenue. Planning to check Osborne Avenue and Hulse Lansing Road next but wanted to put the word out.
