This morning Shannon Curley, Cait Field and I found a pair of Sedge Wrens at Freshkills Park on Staten Island. The birds were present in the section of the east landfill mound where we have our highest densities of Grasshopper Sparrows. The date is consistent with (potential) breeding, and the habitat is certainly appropriate-- so, we will keep an eye on things.
