Central Park, Manhattan, N.Y. City -

A sampling of May 27 birds - Central Park only (within all of the park, and 
with multiple observers; many of these species also photographed) -

Ruby-throated Hummingbird (male, feeding at ornamental flowers - multiple 
observers)
Snowy Egret  (multiple, mainly as fly-overs, esp. from north half of the park)
Great Horned Owl (ongoing)
Wood Duck (ongoing, drake)
Osprey
Tree Swallow  (multiple)
Northern Rough-winged Swallow  (multiple)
Barn Swallow  (multiple)
Veery
Wood Thrush  (multiple)
Swainson's Thrush  (multiple)
White-throated Sparrow (multiple)
Rose-breasted Grosbeak (multiple)

Chimney Swift, Eastern Wood-Pewee, Great Crested Flycatcher, Eastern Kingbird, 
and Cedar Waxwing have all been seen in the multiple, with the latter into the 
many dozens in recent days, and more of fly-over flocks passing by.  Some of 
the Chimney Swifts have been observed going into local-area roosts.

Warblers - at least 18 species still being found in all of Central Park, thru 
Saturday, 5/27:

Ovenbird (multiple)
Northern Waterthrush (multiple)
Tennessee Warbler (at least several)
Bay-breasted Warbler (multiple)
Cape May Warbler (several)
Wilson’s Warbler (at least several)
Canada Warbler (multiple)
Northern Parula (multiple)
Magnolia Warbler (still somewhat numerous)
Black-and-white Warbler (multiple)
Myrtle/Yellow-rumped Warbler (at least several)
Yellow Warbler (multiple)
Blackpoll Warbler (numerous)
American Redstart (still somewhat numerous)
Black-throated Green Warbler (multiple)
Black-throated Blue Warbler (multiple)
Chestnut-sided Warbler (multiple)
Common Yellowthroat (multiple)

Elsewhere in New York County, Randall’s Island continued to have up to 4 spp. 
of Swallows including (nesting) Cliff.  And both Randall’s and Governors 
Island[s] held singing Willow Flycatcher[s] thru Saturday, 5/27.  There were at 
least ten species of warblers present to Saturday on Randall’s Island, many 
being definite migrants and not breeding. Fewer species of warblers were seen 
on Governors Island on the same day.
