+1 to Jochen's post. In NZ any company who pays less then minimum wage to it's employees is asking for trouble, because even if the 'employee/contractor' is only worth that amount, the DOL and employment tribunral will always side with the employee on these matters. In addition - any person / company who has to lower their prices dramatically during challenging times had a poor business model anyway. I'd expect some lowering of prices when supply outstrips demand, but $10 per hour is too low (If you're any good).
