Automatem is looking for a top-notch PHP5/ MySQL5 application programmer who can produce complete software systems with security, extensibility and performance in mind. You need to have Symfony experience, but are willing and able to work with other open source or proprietary/in-house CRUD/CMS frameworks as well. You consider working with common JavaScript libraries a given. You also need competency with regular expressions and AJAX on a library level. Finally you need to be able to convert graphic design layouts into pixel perfect, usability compliant XHTML/CSS templates which also keep content variations of fully dynamic systems in mind. You need to be able to test these in major browsers including IE6 and Safari.
You are fluent with advanced SVN version management and adhere to strict coding standards. Knowledge of Joomla, MSSQL, WebDAV, Payment gateways, screen scraping, IMAP, PDF generation, JSON, XSS, MySQL replication and query optimisation, AMFPHP/ Flex, mass email mod_rewrite and advanced Apache configuration would be beneficial. We expect applicants to have extensive commercial experience, including being able to quote accurately and deliver to tight deadlines. You must also have your complete tool chain of PHP, MySQL, HTTP and JavaScript debugging tools ready at all times; and you are able to identify and resolve problems quickly and effectively. You enjoy the challenge of unusual requirements. You are seeking to develop as a programmer, and to raise and widen your service portfolio. The ideal person would already have experience in commercial training and mentoring on programming topics. Our projects require a person who is generally available to communicate with us within NZ business hours. We would prefer a service focused person that enjoys client interaction.
