I've done quite a bit of work with Fusioncharts (flash based charting).  
You can attach javascript events to each bar/pie slice which is probably 
what you are after.  There are two versions of Fusioncharts.  The free 
version (recently released as opensource) and a paid version, which has 
a few extra wizz bang features.  They also have other products 
(fusionmaps, fusionwigits) which might be of use to you too.
