That seems to have solved the problem.

Thank to both of you who suggested it.

Have a hunt through your Apache configuration file for the 'DirectoryIndex'
option, and make sure index.php is in the list.

It sounds as though your installation is trying to find index.html, not
finding it, so then trying to do a directory listing which is forbidden.

Hope that helps.

Thanks,

Nathan.

Subject: [phpug] Running worpress on a Windows 7 machine

Hi

Have have set up PHP 5.2.13, Apache 2.2, etc on my new windows 7 laptop.

Everything appears to be configured correctly and works well except when I
try to run wordpress.

I get an access denied message in my browser. My apache log contains the
message "Directory index forbidden by Options directive:
C:/clients/wordpress/" What is happening is that for some reason the
index.php file in the wordpress directory won't run. PHP files with other
names work fine.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hamilton
