I'm not sure a transfer via UDAI opens the registrant legal name either. But I'm interested.
I'd be surprised if it does. One password (domain control panel) is all it would take for someone to claim unreputable ownership of about 120 domains in our case (without proving illegal access). I don't see that as secure one bit. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jochen Daum To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, December 20, 2010 6:12 AM Subject: Re: [phpug] [OT] Domain name registered to web developer, not client On 20 December 2010 00:48, Julian Waters <[email protected]> wrote: On 19/12/2010, at 10:19 PM, Bruce Clement wrote: Web Drive require that signed form. I'm amazed to hear this draw-out process is so prevalent. I've transferred many many domains with only the UDAI. Probably the reseller tool I use has a box I tick whereby I acknowledge the legality of the transfer. Are you sure you changed the legal name when transferring? This thread is about changing the legal name. -- NZ PHP Users Group: http://groups.google.com/group/nzphpug To post, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe, send email to [email protected] -- NZ PHP Users Group: http://groups.google.com/group/nzphpug To post, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe, send email to [email protected]
