I appreciate that I have not posted anything here in quite a while. However I need some advice on how to recover a domain name taken by somebody else. The story is this. My laughland.biz domain name, which some of you will be familiar with, lapsed in December for reasons beyond my control. Basically I have been waiting for it to be released so I could pick it up again. Thinking nobody else would be interested in it I chose to wait as it was the cheapest option I had open to me. The domain was finally released on February 23 this year. Within hours it was grabbed by somebody in Japan (a cyber squatter it would appear - don't know for sure), before I could get it. I managed to contact this person and after initially being receptive to my request for it back, he/she has stopped responding to my messages. I tried contacting the registry in Japan but have not heard back - the address I tried may be wrong or there may be language issues. I don't speak or read a word of Japanese and Google's translation is a poor substitute. I have also tried contacting ICANN but they are unwilling to assist. If any of you have had a similar experience, any advice on where to turn next would be much appreciated.
