Role RequirementsThis is a key software engineering role that focuses on the requirement analysis, solution design and implementation of custom functionality for Magento web sites, integrations and custom development based on the Magento Community and Enterprise platforms and Zend Framework. The ideal candidate will have strong OO PHP skills in addition to strong database skills specifically with, but not limited to MySQL. You should have strong development experience within a commercial production environment, be accustomed to working on complex projects and delivering on deadlines. JavaScript skills are also desirable. Your experience means that you produce readable, well-documented, efficient, standards-compliant code, with an emphasis on performance optimisation. You will be comfortable with using a variety of web development tools and git version control. As this is a senior role you will be required to lead and mentor other developers as well as assist in scoping documents with project managers. You should also have experience working with APIs over a variety of protocols (SOAP, REST, XML-RPC) and have solid Linux command line experience as well as experience with the standard PHP web application stack (xAMP). Ideally you will also have experience in distributed, multi-server web environments as well as performance monitoring and optimisation. You will also demonstrate that you can work well in a team as well as autonomously and that you are committed to your professional development and stay up to date with current technologies. Additionally, you will be required to become an expert in Magento development and pass the Magento Developer Certification. You will have excellent written, verbal, and schematic communication skills, good organisational skills with the ability to track and prioritise tasks and a strong interest to work within the eCommerce ecosphere. Bonus points for: - Already having development experience with Magento - Passed the Magento Developer Certification - Zend/PHP certified developer - Experience with ZF2 - Development experience with WordPress - Solid JavaScript skills - System Administration skills and experience - Practical experience with SCRUM/AGILE methodologies Qualifications - A minimum of 4+ years of relevant, software architecture and engineering experience. - A computer science degree or similar from a recognised educational institution.
