Web Developer - Permanent, Full-Time The Ministry for Culture and Heritage is looking for a Web Developer to work on some of New Zealand’s best websites, including Te Ara (teara.govt.nz<http://teara.govt.nz/>) and NZ History (nzhistory.net.nz<http://nzhistory.net.nz/>). The position is part of a dedicated web team of developers, designers and web content wranglers working at Manatū Taonga – Ministry for Culture and Heritage. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in an organisation responsible for funding several of the nation's iconic cultural institutions, providing advice to government on cultural matters, and delivering high quality cultural experiences. You will work on the Ministry's award-winning and high-profile websites and contribute to our work as leading digital publishers in the culture and heritage sector. This role requires a tertiary qualification in information, or web technology, and up to a year's development experience with PHP, Javascript, HTML5, CSS3, and MySQL. Experience with Drupal and version control software (SVN, Git) would also be desirable. An understanding of NZ Govt website accessibility standards is an advantage as is knowledge and interest in New Zealand’s unique culture and history. You will report to the Web Team Manager and work closely with the Senior Web Developer and others in the design and web content teams.
