We should implement a basic progress indicator for compaction displaying
percent completed. This could be done by estimating the number of nodes from
the entries in the {{gc.log}} and the timestamp of the last entry in the
{{journal.log}}. Such a feature would explicitly *not* give an ETA as too many
factors have an impact here (concurrent activity, IO bandwidth, quota, etc.).
