wip patch attached [^OAK-80778.patch].
there are 2 main changes:
* ordering introduced in the query. I'm tempted to leave the sort there for
generic cases (no range) as well, but this is a point to discuss
* everyone group. when using the range apis the everyone group will no longer
be injected (as suggested by [~anchela] on OAK-7994)
tests are still missing. [~anchela] feedback so far?
