The {{oak-segment-azure}} implementation does not currently perform bulk
operations, such as recovery, copying and deletion of archives, etc in
parallel. This can cause processes to take hours, while the CPU sits largely
idle.
By leveraging parallel streams, many I/O operations can be performed in
parallel, thus improving throughput for such operations.
