Hi, the consent is not bound to the code. As you correctly pointed out, the code is a temporary artifact. It’s purpose is to bridge insecure frontchannel communication to more secure backchannel communication. You don’t need to preserve the code in order to preserve the consent. The code is merely intended to be a reference to the consent (or grant). So even if the code expires, the consent can be preserved and updated in the AS. In the simplest case, it is transferred to the refresh token. In more sophisticated implementations, the consent is a first class object in the AS.
