Recent decisions in the VCWG at W3C support the interpretation of alternate credential types as Verifiable Credentials, provided there is a specified transformation from that credential type into the VC Data Model.
Users of SD-JWT in the VCWG have expressed an interest in defining this transformation algorithm so that those of us who use SD-JWT can use them as VCs. It has been suggested that the work of defining such a transformation might be most appropriately undertaken here. I plan on attending the oauth wg meeting on Tuesday at IETF 116 and would love the opportunity to talk about this.
