Description Manifesta 8?s Education Department is seeking to enlist a number of ?Art Mediators?. Especially recent graduates and students studying education, art history, studio art, design, art education, museum education or others education and/or art related studies are invited to apply. There will also be a number of places available for graduates and students from special interest studies such as philosophy and sociology. Within the framework of Manifesta 8 the Art Mediators will be responsible for mediating the Biennial?s artistic content and context with various audiences including primary and secondary schools, colleges, adults and special interest groups. The Manifesta 8 Art Mediation programme is a hands on programme, participants will be working under the supervision of the education coordinators and will have the unique opportunity to gain valuable work experience while being part of an international team of artists and art professionals. Duration: - The working period will be from the last week of September 2010 until the first week on January 2011. - Preparation meetings will be held in July (8-11) and September 2010. Tasks: - Study the form and content of Manifesta 8, the European Biennial of Contemporary art. - Active participation in the development of the Manifesta 8 education programme. - Leading guided tours, workshops and other art mediation activities. Required skills: - A good knowledge of contemporary art. - Flexible time schedule. - A strong command of English and Spanish (other language skills highly appreciated). - Humour and strong communicational skills. - Teacher/didactical training and/or experience not mandatory but highly appreciated.
