INFORMATII GENERALE Festivalul Simultan este un festival anual de video, arta media, muzica electronica experimentala si proiecte a/v. Festivalul isi propune sa intretina si sa stimuleze modalitatile creatoare ale celor mai moderne viziuni in perceperea si captarea realitatilor culturale in arta contemporana. Prezinta procesele actuale si modul in care tehnologia si societatea dau nastere unor noi forme de expresie artistica prin utilizarea noilor medii. Avand la baza in fiecare an o alta tema, festivalul prezinta proiectii de arta video, live performance-uri, instalatii, conferinte. Editia de anul acesta se desfasoara pe tema 'Past Continuous. Future Perfect.' si va avea loc intre 30sept-2oct., 2010 in Timisoara, Romania. CONDITII DE PARTICIPARE Simultan asteapta lucrari video cu caracter inovativ, care folosesc tehnologia intr-un mod ingenios, creativ sau au la baza un scenariu inedit. Participantii pot trimite lucrari care se incadreaza in una din cele doua categorii de mai jos: - video experimental - vizual generativ bazat pe manipulari de sunet si imagine si motion graphics Aplicantii pot trimite cel mult doua lucrari video, fiecare avand o durata maxima de 5 minute. Lucrarile se trimit in fomat AVI sau MOV - compresie dv-pal 720x576 si sunet de 48kh, pe suport DVD (data) Lucrarile se trimit prin posta, insotite de urmatoarele: - formularul de aplicare completat si semnat - cate un formular separat pentru fiecare video in parte. ( printat si in versiune electronica pe CD ) - 3-4 imagini still din fiecare video - dimensiuni minime 720x576 pixeli ( pe CD ) - un CV si o fotografie a artistului ( optional ) Formularul in format Word /txt se trimite si pe e-mail, pe adresa: application[at]simultan.org Atentie: aplicatiile incomplete nu vor fi luate in considerare! Decizia juriului este finala. DOCUMENTARE Dupa eveniment, se va publica un DVD/catalog si o documentatie va fi disponibila pe pagina www.simultan.org Fiecare participant admis va primi acest DVD/catalog pana la sfarsitul anului 2010. MENTIUNI - organizatorii pot sa foloseasca lucrarile in alte prezentari sau la evenimente partenere cu scopul de a promova Festivalul Simultan, dar nu si in scopuri comerciale. - aplicatiile nu vor fi returnate, ci se vor pastra in arhiva Asociatiei Simultan. - organizatorii isi rezerva dreptul de a face modificari in program - nu se percepe taxa de participare! The festival wishes to sustain and to stimulate the creative ways of the most modern visions of perceiving and recording the cultural realities in contemporary art. It presents the current processes and the way in which technology and society give rise to new forms of artistic expression by using the new media. Based on a different theme every year, the festival presents video art projections, music live performances, interdisciplinary works, installations, lectures. This yearÂ’s edition runs under the theme 'Past Continuous. Future Perfect.' and will take place between 30sept - 2oct. 2010, in Timisoara, Romania. TERMS OF ENTRY Simultan is open for submissions of innovative works, which use technology in a creative, ingenious way or are based on a peculiar, unusual story. Categories: - experimental video - motion graphics and generative video based on sound and image manipulations Those interested may apply with a maximum number of 2 works; each of them must not exceed 5 minutes in length. Works must be sent in 720x576 avi or quicktime format, with dv-pal compression and 48kh sound, on DVD (data!) Works will be submitted by mail, together with: - the filled in and signed application form - a separate copy for each work (in hard copy and in digital version on a CD) - 3-4 still images from each video, in jpg format - minimum size 720x576 pixels (on a CD) - a CV and a photo of the artist (optional) The application form in Word/ text format must also be sent by e-mail to: application[at]simultan.org Warning: we will not consider applications which do not include all the above elements! Only those accepted will become part of the screening programme. The decision of the jury is final. DOCUMENTATION After the event, a DVD/catalogue will be published with a selection of participating works. Each of the admitted participants will receive a DVD/catalogue by the end of 2010. MENTIONS - all selected works may be used in other presentations or partner events with the aim of promoting the Simultan Festival, but not for commercial purposes. - submitted works will not be returned, but stored in the Simultan Association archive. - the organisers reserve the right to make changes in the program. - no entry fee!
