I have to disagree with this statement (and the similar sentiment involving IMP caching expressed in the linked blog post in the OP). If it takes me two hours to walk somewhere, 10 minutes to drive there in a Honda, and 8 minutes to drive there in a Lamborghini, I may decide that the time difference between the Honda and the Lamborghini is not worth the extra cost, but the time cost between the Honda and going it on foot is.
