Wrong. China was poor when it embraced socialism. Look how it boomed 
as one of the major economies when it embraced capitalism. Now it 
appears to go back into socialism again with govt interventions (so 
far 586B USD).

That is the same path the US is likely to go (with Obama's New Deal). 
Oh... if you want to look what the New Deal result was when it was 
applied, look at DOW chart at 1930-1933.
