PPN kita dan GST di Australia prinsipnya beda, walau cara pungutnya sama di 
pungut ketika transaksi , dibebankan ke buyer.
   
  Kalo PPN di kita dikenakan hampir pada semua barang.
  Di Australia, dikenakan kepada semua Barang yg sudah 'diolah'/ 'diproses'. 
Kalo jualan barang mentah nggak kena GST, contoh Susu Murni, Sayur Mayur, 
Buah2an, daging mentah, nggak kena GST. Tapi kalo makanan jadi di restoran, 
atau makanan  yg sudah di kemas (macam ayam panggang, sosis) kena GST. Kalo 
belanja di COLES atau Woolworth di sana di struknya kita bisa tahu mana2 yg 
kena GST dan mana2 yg tidak! GST juga tidak dikenakan utk alat2 kesehatan, 
obat2an generik. Dan anehnya ketika GST diberlakukan , pajak penjualan barang 
elektronik hilang , dan bea masuk impor PC, computer periherals, turun drastis. 
Supaya ada insentif di sektor IT. Selama tahun 1999-2002, harga komputer di 
Ausie lebih murah dari di mangdu JKT (ingat betul saya, rakitan di mangdu lebih 
mahal 10% utk spek sama). Sekarang kita lebih murah lagi soalnya banyak 
selundupan!
   
  Saya nggak tahu dgn Singapore yah...tapi sepertinya kalo pake nama GST 
prinsipnya sama. Kalo kita namanya Value Added tax, semua buyer di rampok 10%!
