DJ Yudhoyono Wins Indonesia Election - Election Committee Website JAKARTA (Dow Jones)--Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono won a second term in office in July's presidential election, according to a final vote count posted on the Indonesian election committee's website.
Yudhoyono and his running mate Boediono garnered 60.8% of votes, ahead of former president Megawati Sukarnoputri with 26.8%, and incumbent Vice President Jusuf Kalla with 12.4%. The result wasin line with most quick counts by independent pollsters. The election committee wrapped up counting late Thursday and is scheduled to officially announce the result Saturday. Yudhoyono won re-election as voters backed his anti-corruption campaign and economic management.
