Hong Kong's Private Sector Employment Drops In June

(RTTNews) - Monday, the Census and Statistics Department announced that total 
employment in the private sector decreased 1.5% in June compared to the 
previous year.

Employment in the manufacturing industry fell 6.2% year-on-year in June, and 
employment in the import and export trade dropped 5.7%. On the other hand, 
employment was up 4.9% in human health services, and education, up 4.5%.

In June, the total number of vacancies was 31,530, representing a decrease of 
39% over the previous year. 

Vacancies were down across all selected industries in June. Vacancies in the 
import and export trade industry dipped 54% annually, and that in financing and 
insurance plunged 60%
