DJ Bukit Asam 1H Net Profit IDR710.35 Bln Vs IDR302.22 Bln JAKARTA (Dow Jones)--Coal miner PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA.JK) said Monday its first-half net profit more than doubled due to an increase in sales. Net profit for the January to June period rose to IDR710.35 billion from IDR302.22 billion a year earlier. Sales rose 58% on year to IDR2.89 trillion from IDR1.83 trillion. The company didn't immediately give an explanation on its performance, but analysts attributed it to higher commodity prices. Assets as of June 30 were at IDR4.41 trillion, compared with IDR3.25 trillion a year earlier. The Indonesian government owns 65.02% of Bukit Asam.
