I write this with hopes to draw out others that are interesting in and using Extended Accounting. It seem to me that is just gets no love. Very few have written anything about it (Adrian Cockroft, myself, and not many others), and there are no tools available in public beyond the demo exdump.
I've thought about starting to work on some tools to improve the situation. Namely, a tool to extract exacct records and transfer them into a database for long term storage for easier consumption by other applications as well as an ability to limit the growth of exacct files. A weekly "dump and roll" if you will. Would others be interested in opening up the tools they've built? benr. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
