I've been playing with a little bit of jni code to access process data (ie. procfs) for Java:
http://www.petertribble.co.uk/Solaris/jproc.html Now, it's not ever going to be the most efficient way of doing things (jni calls tend to be expensive) but this allows me to integrate process monitoring into other things I'm doing. It also allows gui construction which allows more interactivity. I can sort on any column; filter on any fields; change the display interactively; add historical charts; drill down or aggregate. And I wish it were possible to do that in top or prstat. -- -Peter Tribble http://www.petertribble.co.uk/ - http://ptribble.blogspot.com/
