This is actually more for SNMP, but I'm sure other people could use it too.
To get at the sensors (eg. fan speed) of older servers I was able to use kstat and/or picld. The newer ones (eg. T2000's) now only deliver that information (apparently) through IMPI, which is opaque to me.
