I'm sure Perren Sheperd (see other posting) is right about lack of
Vetus Schola patrolling away from the centre of Obs. Since I last
wrote about the same phenomenon below the line I have seen the car a
couple of times (once even in our street) but I really think it's far
too infrequent to be what they are supposed to be doing.

A long time ago some security company (maybe ADT) had a check-in spot
just opposite our house. They had to write the time etc in a little
book. I imagine that these days something more sophisticated and
electronic could be used. I do think that we, who pay for this
service, need to ask for some kind of ONGOING RANDOM check-ups on
where the patrollers are.

It's a boring job roaming round the streets, so no wonder we get only
spurts of "good behaviour" after we complain. It always seems to fade
back to nearly nothing a few weeks later.
